An oil field and two wells northwest of Kirkuk in northern Iraq have come under fire from unidentified gunmen, Kirkuk now reported, citing the country’s oil ministry.
“The attack on the Bei Khasan oil field did not lead to fire or damage, to the cessation of production and did not stop the pumping of oil from the wells”, – the publication quoted the ministry as saying. The department did not specify how the militants fired at the field. So far, no organization has claimed responsibility for the attack.
