Seven police officers injured during riots in Belfast

Seven police officers were injured during the riots in Belfast in Northern Ireland, RIA Novosti reported.

Clashes broke out between loyalists and nationalists in Belfast last week. The young people who participated in them used pyrotechnics and stones.

On Thursday night, a fight broke out again between the parties. They threw firecrackers and incendiary bombs over the fence separating their neighborhoods, and hijacked and set fire to a city bus.

According to the statement of the chairman of the police federation, Mark Lindsay, seven law enforcement officers were injured as a result.

“And these are just the officers who have been reported injured. They mostly have leg fractures and concussions”, – Lindsay said.
