In a joint statement, the German and French Ministries of the Interior expressed their concern at the growing number of ceasefire violations in Donbas and called on the parties to end the escalation.
“Germany and France are concerned about the growing number of ceasefire violations following the stabilization of the situation in eastern Ukraine since July 2020. We are closely monitoring the situation, especially the movements of Russian troops, and call on the parties to refrain and immediately end the escalation. We reaffirm our support for the sovereignty and territorial integrity of Ukraine within its internationally recognized borders. As mediators in the Normandy format, Germany and France are striving to implement the Minsk agreements in full”, – reads a joint statement by the French and FRG Foreign Ministries.
The statement also called for the removal of restrictions on the freedom of movement of the OSCE Special Observer Mission in Ukraine (SMM) so that the SMM could carry out its tasks in accordance with its mandate.
On Friday, the press secretary of the Russian President Dmitry Peskov said that the Russian Federation is not “a party to the conflict in Donbass and cannot provide a comprehensive ceasefire, but uses its influence to implement agreements”.Personal data of more than 533 million Facebook users leaked to the network
