Vaccine selfishness does not save the United States – the country is covered by a new wave of pandemic

New mutations of the coronavirus are increasingly manifesting themselves in the United States, despite the authorities’ bravura statements about vaccination records.

Vaccine selfishness does not save the United States - the country is covered by a new wave of pandemic

Soon, the United States may comprehend the fate of Europe, where a new wave of the pandemic has already manifested itself. Rochelle Walensky, head of the US Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, said she felt “certain doom” even though nearly 29% of Americans received at least one dose of COVID-19 vaccine.

As previously reported by News Front, along with other Western countries, the United States began to accumulate vaccines, preventing their export to other states. The head of the White House has made it clear that Washington will not share vaccines until everyone in the United States is vaccinated. Such a policy does not help in an environment where the American central government is afraid of drastic measures. It got to the point that the authorities of individual states began to abandon quarantine measures, which negates the achievements in the fight against COVID-19.

“It is completely irresponsible to do what many governors do”, – said Ashish Jha, dean of the Brown University School of Public Health.

As Ellie Murray, an assistant professor of epidemiology at Boston University, emphasizes, Washington needs to not only stockpile vaccines, but also introduce them before it says the situation is under control.

“There are clear signs that we should be worried right now”, – Bloomberg quoted her as saying.
