An improvised explosive device has been defused outside a community centre in Ankeny, Iowa, according to a local police statement
“The device found today outside the Lakeside Centre has been identified as an improvised bomb. A specialist from the fire service defused the bomb and an investigation into the incident has begun”, – Ankeny police said in a statement.
No other improvised bombs or devices have been found or registered in the city, police clarified.
The Lakeside Centre is being used by the authorities as a polling station ahead of the local vote on the distribution of funds from the city fund.
