Politico: Ukraine and Poland ask Biden to stop Nord Stream-2 construction

Foreign Ministers of Ukraine and Poland Dmitry Kuleba and Zbigniew Rau in an interview with Politico newspaper demanded that US President Joe Biden use all means to stop the construction of the Nord Stream-2 gas pipeline.

“We call on the US President Joe Biden to use all the means at his disposal to prevent the completion of this project”, – the foreign ministers of Ukraine and Poland said.

The White House has not yet responded to the “appeals” of the heads of the foreign ministries.

Nord Stream-2 envisages the construction of two directions of a gas pipeline with a total capacity of about 55 billion cubic meters of gas per year from the shores of Russia through the Baltic Sea to Germany. According to experts, after the launch of the pipeline, Ukraine will lose several billion dollars a year due to the reduction in gas transit through its territory.
