Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan accused the American authorities of supporting the militants operating in Iraq.
Recently, Ankara has reported that Kurdish militants had executed 13 Turkish security officials and soldiers who took part in an operation against the Kurdistan Workers’ Party, banned in Turkey. The incident took place in northern Iraq.
Washington stood up for the Kurds, who are known to enjoy the patronage of the American authorities. The US condemned the incident, but denied the PKK’s involvement.
According to Erdogan, this position of Washington suggests that the United States supports both the Kurdistan Workers’ Party and the People’s Defense Forces, a Kurdish group operating in Syria.
