The majority of Serbian citizens apply for vaccination with a Russian-made drug against the Sputnik V coronavirus, Mirsad Jerlek, Secretary of State (rank, close to Deputy Minister of Health) of Serbia, told RIA Novosti.
Vaccination began in Serbia on December 24 with a US-German drug produced by Pfizer and BioNTech, the first batch of the Russian vaccine arrived on December 30, and Sinopharm from China on January 16. Vaccination applications are submitted electronically, and Serbian citizens can choose the drug.

“There is still a greater interest in the Sputnik V vaccine in relation to the drugs produced by Pfizer and Sinopharm. In percentage terms, this is from 38% to 42% of people who chose the Russian vaccine, another 20% – Pfizer, 20% – the Chinese vaccine, as well as here Moderna and AstroZeneka, this is according to the data we have now”, – the health secretary told the agency on Tuesday.
