Ukraine’s unemployment rate has risen by a third in a year

The State Employment Centre of Ukraine has reported that compared to 2020, the unemployment rate in the country has increased by 33%

“As of January 25, 485.3 thousand people in Ukraine have the status of the unemployed. This is 33% more than on 25 January 2020,” the State Employment Centre said.

The number of vacancies in the database of the State Employment Service decreased by 20.5%: as of January 2021 there were 44 thousand vacancies in the database.
Last year 1.1m people received unemployment benefits in Ukraine.
