New US administration to fulfill its financial obligations to the WHO

The new US administration will fulfill all financial obligations to WHO, said the head of the delegation of the new US administration, director of the US National Institute of Allergy and Infectious Diseases (NIAID) Anthony Fauci.

“The United States is committed to meeting its financial obligations to WHO. The United States sees technical cooperation at all levels as the main foundation of the partnership with WHO, which is extremely valued and which we intend to develop further”, –  he said, speaking at the 148th session of the WHO Executive Committee.

According to him, as part of the return of the United States to WHO, the new administration will stop withdrawing its experts from the structure of the World Organization, and will also resume regular communication of American staff both directly with WHO and through the centers cooperating with it.
