Der Spiegel: Russian gas safer than American gas

Experts of the German magazine Der Spiegel believe that Russian gas is much safer for the environment, according to FAN.

“In recent years, the United States has been actively developing the extraction of shale gas by hydraulic fracturing, which uses chemicals that pollute the soil and groundwater. In addition, to simply deliver this gas, a large amount of additional energy is used”, – experts say.

According to the magazine Der Spiegel, Russian gas is more “environmentally friendly” and the risk of its leakage during the pipeline supply is minimal.

The construction of the Nord Stream 2 pipeline continues despite the sanctions pressure from the United States. The Nord Stream 2 gas pipeline involves the construction of two routes with a total capacity of 55 billion cubic meters of gas per year from the coast of Russia through the Baltic Sea to Germany.
