New attack in Afghanistan: two dead, seven wounded

Militants in a booby-trapped car attempted to attack an Afghan National Army operating base

According to Xinhua channel 112 Ukraine, citing local spokesman Wahidullah Jumazad, a suicide car bombing in Ghazni province in eastern Afghanistan has killed two people (along with the attacker) and wounded seven more servicemen.

“Militants in a booby-trapped vehicle attempted to attack an Afghan National Army (ANA) operational base in Nani area along the Kabul-Kandahar highway at around 02:30 local time. Soldiers stationed at the base opened fire on the vehicle before it reached its target”, –  the report said.

According to Wahidullah Jumazad, a stolen army armoured personnel carrier loaded with explosives exploded after a firefight, killing the driver of a passing truck, and wounding seven soldiers. The victims were taken to a military camp for medical treatment.
So far, no group has claimed responsibility for the attack.
