Seven people were injured, ABC reported
A car drove into a crowd of demonstrators in New York’s Manhattan borough on Friday, injuring seven people. This was reported by a local ABC affiliate.
Some of the injured are hospitalized, their lives are not in danger. The vehicle was being driven by a woman. She did not attempt to leave the scene and was interviewed by police. There have been no reports of her arrest.
According to the Fox News TV channel, the protesters were demonstrating in support of the Black Lives Matter movement. It is active in the mass protests which began in the USA after the death of African American George Floyd in Minneapolis, Minnesota. Police officers used a chokehold during his arrest on 25 May.
