According to TASS, on Thursday during a special broadcast on NBC television, it was announced that the US President-elect Joseph Biden and his partner in the election race Kamala Harris won the title of “Person of the Year” according to the American magazine Time.

“For almost a hundred years, Time has been calling the Person of the Year. In 2020, Time was named President-elect Joe Biden and Vice-President-elect Kamala Harris”, – said rock musician Bruce Springsteen, who presented the honorary title holders.

The editor-in-chief of the magazine, Edward Felsenthal, noted that this title was awarded for the first time to an elected US vice president.

“Biden and Harris are epoch-making”, – he added.

According to Time’s editors, Biden “was named the 46th President of the United States in a historic and unprecedented election”. The magazine credits the country’s former vice president with winning the largest number of votes in US history in the November presidential election, breaking the record for 44th head of state Barack Obama.
