Maia Sandu leaves the Action and Solidarity Party

According to the current legislation, the president of the country cannot be a party member.

According to the Telegram channel “Choice of Moldova”, the post of the interim chairman of PAS was taken by the first vice president Igor Grosu until the organization of the next PAS Congress, which will take place in 2021.

Maia Sandu announced that she will step down as head of the Action and Solidarity Party, which she leads, before the inauguration ceremony, that is, until December 24, 2020.

“We haven’t discussed it yet. The leader will be the one who gets the most votes in the secret elections to be held at the next congress”, – Sandu said.
