Biden is considering retired General Austin for Chief of Staff of the Pentagon

Former head of U.S. Central Command Austin retired from the Army in 2016. If appointed, he will be the first African-American to head the US military


According to Interfax, Axios reports, citing informed sources with direct knowledge of the decision-making process, retired General Lloyd Austen is being considered by Democrat Joe Biden, who announced himself the winner of the US presidential election, as one of the candidates for the post of Minister of Defence.

“Other candidates include former Home Secretary Jay Johnson, Senator Tammy Duckworth and former Pentagon official Michelle Flournoy”, –  sources say.
