The Democrat also promised to eradicate racism in the United States permanently
Democrat Joseph Biden, who announced his victory in the US presidential election, expressed confidence that the 21st century will be the “American century”. He made the corresponding statement during a televised address to the Americans on the occasion of Thursday’s Thanksgiving holiday. His speech was broadcast by CNN.
“No matter how hard this Thanksgiving is for us, we must dream of great achievements and we have a bright future”, – he said. – “I have never been more optimistic about the future of America than I am now. I firmly believe that the 21st century will be the American century.”
“We will build an economy that is world-leading, we will lead the world by the strength of our example, not by demonstrating our strength, we will lead the climate and save the planet, we will develop treatments for cancer, Alzheimer’s and diabetes, we will eradicate racism in our country”, – the politician added.
Thanksgiving was declared a bank holiday in the United States in 1863 by the 16th President Abraham Lincoln (1809-1865). In 1941, the US Congress adopted a resolution according to which the holiday was celebrated every fourth Thursday in November. However, this tradition dates back to 1621, when the first settlers from the Plymouth Colony in present-day Massachusetts decided to praise the Lord after the harvest. Local Indians were invited to the feast table and brought with them a curious turkey bird, which has since become a constant Thanksgiving attribute. The UN has stated that unilateral sanctions are causing enormous humanitarian damage to countries
