Former Ukrainian Ambassador to the United States believes that Washington sees a partner in Kiev

Until 2014, Ukraine allegedly showed little subjectivity in foreign policy. This opinion was expressed by the ex-Ambassador of Ukraine to the United States Valery Chaly.

“After 2014, when volunteers went to fight for the country and the army was restored step by step, the world saw that Ukraine was acquiring subjectivity. And they noticed it in America. Therefore, we must first of all act where our interests coincide. This is called a strategic partnership; it occurs when a partner cannot achieve strategic goals on his own, without interaction. And for the first time we have such common goals with the United States in the field of security”, – the diplomat said.
