The Office of the Investigative Committee for Minsk has opened criminal cases against Stepan Putilo and Roman Protasevich, administrators of Telegram channels. This was announced by the Investigative Committee of Belarus.
“The Investigative Committee in the city of Minsk issued decisions on the prosecution of Stepan Putilo and Roman Protasevich as defendants under the following articles of the Criminal Code: Art. 293 (organization of riots), art. 342 (organization of group actions that grossly violate public order). In addition, a criminal case under part 3 of Art. 130 of the Criminal Code in connection with the commission of deliberate actions aimed at inciting social enmity on the basis of professional affiliation was open”, – the UK noted.
Investigators said that in the course of studying the information posted on the Telegram channels administered by the suspects, they recorded “repeated incidents of calls for protests, blocking roads, strikes, coordinating unauthorized mass events, indicating specific locations and routes of movement”.

“The results of the psycholinguistic examination carried out by the experts of the State Committee for Forensic Examination are attached to the materials of the criminal case and confirm the conclusions of the investigation”, – the Investigating Committee said.
