An extremist woman was detained in Belarus, who called for the blockade of roads

The administrator of the telegram channel “Drivers 97” was detained by Belarusian law enforcement officers for calling for mass disturbances.

According to the press secretary of the Ministry of Internal Affairs Olga Chemodanova, the Prosecutor General’s Office has already initiated criminal proceedings “for calls for actions aimed at causing harm to the national security of the Republic of Belarus”.

“A woman has been recognized as a suspect, a preventive measure in the form of detention has been chosen in respect of her”, –  said Ms. Chemodanova.

During the investigation, law enforcement officers found out that the detainee interacted with other extremists. To date, five active participants of the “Drivers 97” telegram channel have been detained.

“Several hundred radical participants have been identified and their actions will be legally assessed. More than 50 searches have been carried out: walkie-talkies, firearms, ammunition, wheel-piercing hedgehogs and bats have been seized”, –  the official said.
