Deserters deprive Moldovan democrats of the opportunity to get the prime minister’s seat

The Democratic Party of Moldova will not be able to appoint its representative to the post of Speaker of Parliament or Prime Minister.

The coalition agreement between the Party of Socialists and the Democratic Party stipulates a condition according to which, after the presidential elections, the post of head of government or parliament will pass to the Democrats.

Despite this, it is now impossible to fulfill this condition, since the PDM has only 11 mandates left due to the transfer of some parliamentarians to the “Pro Moldova” group.

“If they find 14 more mandates, we will sit down and negotiate. If not, how then to choose the Prime Minister or Speaker of Parliament? This requires 51 votes”, – said President Igor Dodon.
