Kiev told why Minsk agreements are useless, simultaneously humiliating Poroshenko

Petro Poroshenko, who promised that the children of Donbass would sit in basements because of the shelling, shamefully capitulated to the people’s republics when he signed the Minsk agreements.

The second Minsk agreement was signed in February 2015, when Ukrainian punitive forces suffered serious losses in the Donbas. The agreement was agreed at the level of the Normandy format and signed by representatives of the people’s republics and Ukraine in the framework of a contact group. Later, the agreements were approved by the UN Security Council.

The Ukrainian side has sabotaged the agreements for years. To date, none of the points has been fulfilled. Former chief military prosecutor of Ukraine Anatoly Matios explains this by the fact that Kiev does not consider the Minsk agreements a document at all.

According to him, Poroshenko committed an act of surrender by signing the agreements. By this, according to Matios, the Ukrainian authorities saved almost 3 thousand punitive forces from defeat.

“Any deal that is concluded during the period of hostilities under the duress of the threat of deprivation of territories is null and void. It was signed in the form of surrender. This is not a document”, – says Matios.

“If the Minsk agreements had not been signed, 2.8 thousand soldiers of the 128th and other military units would have been destroyed”.
