Azerbaijan is ready for negotiations if Armenia ceases fire in Karabakh

Ilham Aliyev made a statement on the events in Nagorno-Karabakh.

INTERFAX-AZERBAIJAN reports that in an interview with the French newspaper Figaro, Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev said that even today Azerbaijan is ready to stop hostilities in Nagorno-Karabakh, but Armenia continues to flagrantly violate the ceasefire.

“We are ready to stop even today. I said that the sooner the military part of the problem ends, the better. We want to move to the negotiating table. But, unfortunately, Armenia grossly violated the ceasefire and attacked Ganja. Therefore, if they stop today, we will also stop, and diplomats will continue working”, – Aliyev said.

“If they do not stop, then we will go to the end with the aim of liberating all the occupied territories”.

In his words, it will be possible to return to the negotiating table if Armenia adheres to the basic principles developed by France, Russia and the United States.
