Spanish government may pardon Catalan independence fighters

The Spanish authorities thought about pardoning politicians and activists who advocated the independence of Catalonia.

The government will begin considering petitions next week.

The Minister of Justice of Spain Juan Carlos Campo told about it. He warned that this process will take more than six months.

The supporters of the independence of Catalonia themselves are not happy with the news. They noted that pardons by the state are considered on an individual basis and in any case will not lead to any significant progress in the political sphere.
