Russia has nothing to hide about the situation with Navalny – Lavrov

Russia has nothing to hide over the incident with opposition leader Alexei Navalny. This was stated by Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov.

“We have nothing to hide. Let me remind you once again that as soon as Alexei Navalny felt unwell on board the plane, immediate measures were taken to land the plane, an ambulance was already waiting at the airport, which immediately took him to the hospital, where the ventilator was immediately turned on, all other necessary measures were taken”, – he said.

According to Lavrov, the response from Berlin on the situation with Navalny is delayed due to the position of the German Foreign Ministry.

“Today we once again asked our colleagues from the EU, from Germany, whether Ms. Merkel, who has been accusing us of this act for two days already, allegedly of poisoning, but cannot present anything, whether she plans to give instructions to her employees, so that the response of the Ministry of Justice of the Federal Republic of Germany to the request of the Prosecutor General’s Office was received”, – Lavrov said.

He drew a parallel between the reaction of the international community around Navalny with the Skripals case, on which the Russian side was never provided with answers.

“Therefore, we are now approaching such pompous, pathetic statements of our Western colleagues with a fair amount of skepticism. Let’s see what facts will be provided”, – the minister summed up.
