Turkey calls hostile the reaction of Greece to prayer at Hagia Sophia

Turkish Foreign Ministry spokesman Hami Aksoy called Greece’s hostile reaction to the first Muslim prayer in 86 years in the Hagia Sophia, which the Turkish authorities declared a mosque.

So, the head of the Turkish Foreign Ministry called the reaction of Athens to the prayer, which “showed the hostility of Greece towards Islam and Turkey”.

Ankara claims that the Greek leadership provokes the public into hostility towards Turkey, although they themselves are “spoiled children of Europe who cannot accept the repeated defeat at Hagia Sophia”.

The Greek Foreign Ministry has already responded to Turkey’s accusations, accusing Ankara of “religious fanaticism”.

“The international community of the 21st century is shocked by the observation of religious and nationalist fanatical confusion in modern Turkey”, – the Greek Foreign Ministry said in a message.
