The US Department of Defense signed a five-year contract with Ritedose, a pharmaceutical company, for the supply of medicines just a month after it changed ownership.
This was reported by The Wall Street Journal, citing its own sources.
Ritedose operates in the United States, but back in 2017 it was bought out by the pharmaceutical company Humanwell Healthcare and the investment fund AGIC Capital, which are based in China.
So far, no one has paid attention to this fact, although only a month after the deal with Ritedose the Pentagon signed a contract. The company was supposed to supply military medicine for 5 years. The military department hoped that the supplied products would be manufactured in the United States, an employee of the department explained to the publication.
