Carabinieri in Milan arrested an Italian who converted to Islam on charges of religious propaganda for criminal purposes.
Investigators of the Carabinieri Anti-Terrorism Directorate considered the 38-year-old man to be a danger, because his circle of contacts “both at the national and international levels consisted of a network of people engaged in systematic propaganda in favor of the Islamic State* through posts and comments on social networks”.
A resident of Milan began to share the ideas of radical Islam since 2015.
Arrested under the name “Issa” visited the Islamic cultural center of Milan. During the investigation, it turned out that he disseminated extremist ideas among two teenagers from the same institution.
