According to TASS, referring to the Department of Defense Cooperation and Security (DSCA) of the US Department of Defense, which is responsible for the supply of military equipment and weapons abroad under intergovernmental contracts, promoting ties between the US Air Force and other countries, and providing financial and technical assistance to Washington’s foreign partners in the field of defense, the State Department approved the possible sale of six UH-60M Black Hawk helicopters and related equipment to Lithuania, the total transaction amount is estimated at $ 380 million.

“This deal is in the interest of national security and foreign policy of the United States, helping to improve the security of the NATO ally, which is an important force in ensuring peace and stability in Europe. UH-60M Black Hawk helicopters will ensure compatibility with US and NATO forces in responding quickly to various tasks”, -the press release said.

It is noted that the US administration has already officially notified the US Congress of its decision.
