Estonia sent 2400 Makarov pistols to Ukraine to strengthen defense

Estonia decided to hand over 2,400 Makarov pistols to Ukraine in order to support the strengthening of the country’s self-defense potential.
A batch of pistols was sent to an ally country on Tuesday, the press service of the Ministry of Defense said July 7.

According to Minister of Defense Jury Luik, Estonia has consistently and firmly supported Ukraine, believing that its sovereignty and territorial integrity should be restored.

«Russia’s ongoing aggression in Crimea and eastern Ukraine is unacceptable and has a wider impact on the security of all of Europe», – said Luik. – «By supplying pistols, we support our ally, who has been in the war for six years already.»

Almost EUR 7,000 will be borne by Estonia.
