Half of the Pakistani diplomatic corps in Delhi has been declared persona non grata

According to the BBC, India expelled half the staff of the Pakistani embassy in New Delhi, accusing diplomats of espionage and links with terrorists.

“India will also reduce the number of staff at its office in Islamabad, the capital of Pakistan”, –  the Indian Foreign Ministry said.

Relations between the two nuclear-armed states have been tense up to this point since India expelled two Pakistani staff members three weeks ago. They were accused of trying to obtain information about the movements of Indian troops.

The Indian media suggests that the last step was due to the alleged mistreatment of the two Indian officers in Islamabad.
