In the United States, the prosecutor who led cases against Trump supporters was fired

According to Interfax with reference to the Associated Press, the US Department of Justice announced the dismissal of the prosecutor who oversaw the lawsuits against President Donald Trump’s allies and the investigation into his personal lawyer Rudi Giuliani.

U.S. Attorney General William Barr announced the resignation of Berman, and the White House announced that the candidacy of the chairman of the Securities and Exchange Commission, lawyer Jay Clayton, who, according to the agency, has practically no experience as a federal prosecutor, is being vacated.

Berman himself said that he had learned of his dismissal from the press release of the Ministry of Justice, and was not going to leave the post.

“I did not leave and I am not going to leave my post,” he said, noting that the investigations he is conducting will be continued.
