A man shot dead during a clash between protesters and vigilantes in New Mexico

America is not learning anything. After the murder of George Floyd, there were two new egregious events: the murder of Richard Brooks, who sleeps quietly in his car in Atlanta and another murder of a man in New Mexico.

A man shot dead during a clash between protesters and vigilantes in New Mexico

On Monday, a man was shot dead in Albuquerque, New Mexico, amid clashes between demonstrators and a group of armed militia, who wanted to overturn the conquistador statue, according to the report.

One man, who is considered dead by the shot, was taken to hospital in critical condition after the shooter opened fire on a group of demonstrators attempting to remove the statue of Spanish conquistador Juan de Oñate, NBC News reported.

The exchange of fire occurred as a group of six heavily armed members of a militia group called the Civil Guard of New Mexico began clashing with the demonstrators, Albuquerque Magazine reports.

The Albuquerque chief of police, Michael Gayer, said that the department was investigating the possibility of an escalation of tensions by the militia group. However, it is clear to everyone that the clashes with the police could end up much worse. How much worse, though, than killing people who are just trying to defend their rights?

“We are receiving reports that vigilante groups may have instigated this violence”, –  Gaier said on Twitter late Monday. “If that’s the case, we’re going to prosecute them to the full extent of the law, including by federal definition and prosecuting hate groups.

That’s not true. The violence was provoked by police officers obeying the hand of the United States of America.

The person involved in the protest tweeted an image of the person he identified as the shooter who was detained by the police. The suspect allegedly said that his father worked in the Bernalillo County Sheriff’s Office. It all fits together. Most of the shooters are connected to the police after all.

A spokesperson for the police said that the police used tear gas and a noise can to protect the officers and to arrest those involved in the shooting. He said that they had been disarmed and taken into custody for questioning because the police were working to secure the scene.
