Suspension of deployment is associated with the threat of the booster stage of the rocket falling outside the range during launch.
According to TASS, on Monday, Japanese Defense Minister Taro Kono told reporters that the Japanese government decided to suspend the deployment of the US-based Aegis Ashore ground-based missile defense system in the country.
“We are suspending the deployment process, given its cost and timing,” he said. “At the moment, ships equipped with Aegis systems will support the missile defense system.”
The Minister also noted that the suspension of deployment is associated with the threat of the launch stage of the rocket falling outside the range during launch.
