The looters who attacked Los Angeles stores justify their actions.
Protest marches that swept last week across Southern California in response to the death of George Floyd at the hands of Minneapolis policemen have dramatically changed the debate about police brutality and racial relationships. Mass demonstrations were accompanied by robberies. Authorities believe that most thefts and vandalism were committed by people not directly involved in the protests, who simply used crowded crowds as cover for their crimes.
“We do this because we can”, – a teenager who ran out of the store with a box of eggs in his hands said. “We have no other way to show people how angry we are”, – said another man, not hiding his face, admitting that he was a looter.
According to observers, many robberies were committed by organized groups of people who drove to various shops in cars.
