The number of US doctors killed by COVID-19 was 40% higher than official data

This is evidenced by the data of the Lost on the Frontline project, created with the support of The Guardian and Kaiser Health News.

The US Centers for Disease Control and Prevention previously reported having counted 368 deaths among health workers. At the same time, they emphasized that their statistics are not reliable. According to Lost on the Frontline, 586 doctors and other healthcare providers, including those who worked in nursing homes, were killed in the United States.

The project also draws attention to the causes of death of doctors. So, due to a shortage of medical products, many of them had to reuse masks or replace personal protective equipment with improvised means. As you know, at the dawn of the epidemic in the United States, bandanas were even allowed to be used instead of masks.
