Interethnic conflicts in the United States of America will aggravate under any government and any president as the economic situation worsens in the country, said Elena Panina, member of the State Duma’s international affairs committee.
Earlier, Susan Rice, former presidential adviser on national security, said Russia could stand behind the violence during the protests in the United States. Rice did not cite any evidence or concrete facts.
According to Panina, Russia’s accusation of meddling in the US affairs has become a kind of conditioned reflex for part of the American political class, which manifests itself in situations described by the formula “something went wrong”.
“For thirty years, the United States has not only extolled in every way its achievements in the field of interracial and interethnic relations, but also tried to impose its model on other countries. However, the unrest in Ferguson in August 2014 put an end to this myth, and since then the situation has only escalated. The events in Minneapolis that caused the pogroms across the country are just a continuation of the history of the racial conflict in America, which in fact never stopped”, – Panina said.
The deputy noted that throughout the twentieth century, black activists in the USA were accused of secret ties with the USSR.
“However, the Los Angeles riot of 1992, which involved more than a million people and was a real disaster for the United States, was suppressed by the US Army and caused mass casualties, took place after the Soviet Union disappeared, and America could only blame itself”, – Panina added.
According to the expert, against the background of the upcoming US elections, the “racial factor” will be used for the purposes of forces interested in the current US President Donald Trump leaving the White House.
“However, the causes of national conflicts in America are deeply rooted in American history, and as the economic situation worsens, they will worsen under any government and any president”, – Panina concluded.
