DPR reports 11 violations of ceasefire by security forces per day

The Ukrainian security forces violated the ceasefire in the Donbass over the past day 11 times, journalists reported today at a representative office of the self-proclaimed Donetsk People’s Republic at the Joint Center for the Control and Coordination of the Ceasefire (JCCC).

On Wednesday, DPR reported 15 ceasefire violations by Ukrainian security forces per day.

“Over the past day, the total number of violations by the armed forces of Ukraine amounted to 11 times”, – the representative of the DPR in the JCCC said.

According to him, the Ukrainian security forces fired 15 artillery shells and 13 mines around the republic, also fired from the armament of the BMP, grenade launchers, and small arms. As a result of shelling in the village of Staromikhailovka in the west of Donetsk, three houses were damaged, the village of Yasnoe was de-energized.

“The total quantity of ammunition used by the armed forces of Ukraine is 122 units”, – the agency’s representative added.

In April 2014, the Ukrainian authorities launched a military operation against the self-proclaimed LPR and DPR, which declared independence after the coup in Ukraine in February 2014. According to the latest UN data, about 13 thousand people became victims of the conflict.

The issue of resolving the situation in the Donbass is being discussed, including during the meetings in Minsk of the contact group, which since September 2014 has already adopted three documents regulating steps to de-escalate the conflict. However, even after armistice agreements between the parties to the conflict, skirmishes continue.
