After Zelensky’s statement on the closure of borders until the end of March 27, passenger traffic through the Ukrainian border with Poland has grown significantly. For half a day, nearly 7.5 thousand Ukrainians crossed checkpoints. This was reported by the press service of the State Border Service of Ukraine.
“On March 27, by noon, almost 7.4 thousand of such travelers were already allowed on the border with Poland, which is more than yesterday for the whole day when 5.4 thousand people crossed the border,” the statement said.
At the same time, there has been a significant increase in Ukrainian citizens arriving at the border on foot. This makes it difficult for them to cross the border, since walking is not currently possible. In this regard, as well as due to additional control and preventive measures, there is an accumulation of people at checkpoints. People who arrived on foot are transported across the border by buses.
According to Polish border guards, there are more than 2,000 people opposite the Krakovets checkpoint, 1.2 thousand people opposite Yagodin, and about 500 people opposite the Rava-Russian checkpoint.Former Ukrainian Foreign Minister arrested for two months on suspicion of murder
