Montenegro sees multiple protests

Mass protests began in December, with the Serbian Orthodox Church warning that the law will give the government the right to confiscate its property. Led by clergy of the Serbian Orthodox Church, tens of thousands have been protesting twice-weekly demanding the law be scrapped.

Pro-Russian and pro-Serbian opposition political movements regularly take part in the protests. Some of those turning out took part in earlier protests against the ruling Democratic Party of Socialists, DPS, which has been in government for the past three decades, while others are marching for the first time.

In addition, protests again Montenegrin European dictator are being held despite the danger of coronavirus.
