“The work is going according to plan” – a report on the construction of Nord Stream-2 is presented in Germany

Attempts by the US administration to torpedo the construction of the Nord Stream-2 gas pipeline will not prevent the completion of the project.

“The work is going according to plan” - a report on the construction of Nord Stream-2 is presented in Germany

This is stated in the report of the German company Uniper, which is a partner of Russian Gazprom in the framework of the Nord Stream-2 project.

The document emphasizes that Nord Stream-2 is an important project that will ensure the energy security of Europe. It is also noted that the pipeline will be completed, ”despite the delays”, because ”all other work is going according to plan”.

At the same time, according to Uniper forecasts, the volumes of gas that Nord Stream-2 can provide Europe in the future will not be half of the consumed. In this regard, the company plans to begin construction of the LNG terminal in the port of Wilhelmshaven.

As News Front previously reported, at the end of last year, the US Congress dragged along with the military budget a set of restrictive measures for the Nord Stream-2 gas pipeline. The initiative implied sanctions against companies involved in construction. In this regard, the pipe-laying vessels of the Swiss company Allseas stopped participating in the project when it remained to lay just 160 kilometers of the pipeline.

However, as practice shows, US sanctions did not bring Washington the desired result. Moreover, European companies, despite the threat of being on the US blacklist, are renewing their participation in the construction of the gas pipeline. So, the rubble laying along the underwater section is carried out by the vessels of the Dutch company Van Oord and the Norwegian CSL Norway AS. In addition, soon the Russian pipelayer Akademik Chersky is due to arrive in the Baltic Sea, which will complete the project.
