Student protests in Thailand gain momentum

Student protests began in Thailand, the most massive in several decades, OTR reports. Thousands of students from 30 leading universities, including one of the oldest and most prestigious Tammasat universities, staged sit-ins and light shows on mobile phones.

This is a rare in scale response of law-abiding Thai youth to the actions of the authorities, political scientists say. The government in court has succeeded in dissolving the opposition party of the Future. She advocated democratic change in the country.
