The aggravation of the situation in Idlib harmed the agreements on Syria that were reached at the talks in Astana and Sochi, Turkish Foreign Minister Mevlut Cavusoglu said in an interview with TRT.
“We cannot say that the Sochi and Astana processes have ceased to operate, but we can say that they were damaged”, – the Turkish Foreign Minister said.
According to him, Ankara intends to strengthen contacts with Moscow on this issue.
“We conveyed our thoughts to the Russian side, in the coming period we will strengthen our contacts”, – Cavusoglu said.
He also did not exclude the meeting of the presidents of the two countries, Recep Tayyip Erdogan and Vladimir Putin. On February 17-18, Moscow hosted the Russian-Turkish talks on Syria.
Turkey reported that they did not give a result that would satisfy Ankara. Erdogan said the country’s military operation in Idlib is a matter of time.
