The US military and two Pentagon contract soldiers died in Kenya as a result of an attack by militants of the Al-Shabab group (part of Al-Qaeda*), the press service of the US African Command reports.
As specified in a press release, the attack was committed on a military base of the Kenyan armed forces in the area of the Manda Bay airfield. At the same time, two more US troops were injured.
The attackers, who were armed with small arms, managed to infiltrate the base and damage six civilian aircraft that were on the airfield. Together with the Kenyan military, the attack was repelled. No casualties were reported among the militants.
