In Pyongyang, the U.S. initiative to convene the UN Security Council was called hostile

The DPRK Foreign Ministry called hostile the U.S. initiative to convene the UN Security Council and the statements on the need to implement sanctions against Pyongyang, the North Korean Central News Agency  reported.

“On December 10, U.S. Secretary of State Mike Pompeo said that it was necessary to comply impeccably with the U.N. sanctions resolution (against the DPRK), followed by the U.S. Security Council on December 11 and dared to commit a hostile provocation again in connection with our steps to modernize weapons for defense reasons”, –  the DPRK Foreign Ministry said in a statement.

Earlier it was reported that the U.S. requested a discussion in the UN Security Council on December 11 on the problem of the recent launches of the DPRK and possible provocations by Pyongyang.
“This once again shows that the UN Security Council is just a political tool, acting at the behest of the United States”, –  the DPRK Foreign Ministry added.
