The first deputy chairman of the Federation Council committee on international affairs, Vladimir Dzhabarov, spoke about the importance of the Nord Stream 2 gas pipeline for European countries.
“From the very beginning it was clear that the project was beneficial for all European countries, including Denmark. But the delay in issuing permission led to time losses. Nevertheless, there is no doubt that Nord Stream 2 is an important project, environmentally friendly and meets all international requirements”, – he said.
Dzhabarov expressed the opinion that the Danes will not change their opinion on this issue.
Earlier, Danish Ambassador to Russia Karsten Sendergord spoke about Copenhagen’s position on the Nord Stream 2 gas pipeline.
According to him, Denmark needed to make sure that the project fully complies with international obligations and environmental standards.
On October 30, Nord Stream 2 received permission to lay Nord Stream 2 along a route southeast of Bornholm Island.Toxic Political Strength: Westminster fears Trump’s visit just days before UK elections
