Kurds urge the international community to oppose Turkey’s actions in Syria.
The Turkish military on Wednesday, October 9, began to cross the border with Syria. This was reported by Bloomberg, citing a Turkish official.
“Turkish troops began crossing the border in northeastern Syria to force US-backed Kurdish fighters to move away from the border,” the source said.
At the same time, Turkish Minister of National Defense Hulusi Akar noted that “the process of transferring troops to the border and preparing for the operation is ongoing.”
According to Al Arabiya, the Syrian Democratic Forces (SDS) are calling on the international community to oppose Turkey.
SDS officials said the situation in northern Syria was still normal until Turkey launched a special operation. They also refer to the opinion of a society that supposedly does not accept the Turkish invasion of the Syrian region.
“All residents of the region, including Kurds, Arabs, Syrians and Assyrians, are calling on the international coalition forces and the international community to confront the brutal Turkish threat, which is aimed at security and stability of the already safe area”, – the SDS statement said.
The democratic forces also say that the start of the Turkish military operation means Ankara’s complete rejection of the security mechanism that was implemented between the three parties – Ankara, the international coalition and the Syrian democratic forces.
It was reported that Turkey launched unilateral military operations in the “safe zone” in northeast Syria. At the same time, the United States began to withdraw troops from this region.
