Recently, the advantage in favor of the recognition of the self-proclaimed “Republic of Kosovo” at the UN level is only one vote, which the Czech Republic could deprive Pristina.
So, President Milos Zeman announced his intention to raise the issue of withdrawing recognition of the Balkan quasi-state at a meeting of constitutional representatives in Prague. According to him, this will take place in about a month.
At the same time, Zeman appreciated the remark of the Czech Interior Minister, Lubomyr Metnar, who stated that “the recognition of Kosovo was a mistake”. “It seems that he will support my idea of who will oppose – we will see in a month,” the head of state said.
As News Front previously reported, recently Belgrade’s foreign policy has reduced the number of countries that have recognized Kosovo’s independence to 97. Among the states that have revised their position are the Central African Republic, Madagascar, the Republic of Palau, the Solomon Islands, Lesotho, Suriname, Granada, the Union Comoros, Burundi, Commonwealth of Dominica, Sao Tome and Principe, Liberia, Guinea-Bissau, Papua New Guinea.
