Israeli Foreign Minister Israel Katz welcomed countries that recognized the Lebanese Hezbollah movement as a terrorist organization.
“This year, Great Britain and Argentina joined the United States and Canada in recognizing Hezbollah as a terrorist organization, and we continue to take steps in this direction with our allies,” – Katz said at the anti-terrorism summit.
“Paraguay also made a similar decision,” – he added.
Earlier, Katz, in a telephone conversation with his German counterpart Heiko Maas, called on Germany to impose sanctions against Hezbollah and recognize this organization as terrorist. In response, Maas said that “Germany’s attitude towards Hezbollah in Lebanon is close to Israel’s position and that the issue of recognizing this organization as terrorist will be considered in the near future,” – the Israeli Minister’s press service reported.
