Georgian President Salome Zurabishvili signed a decree appointing former Interior Minister Georgy Gakharia to the post of prime minister of the country.

This was reported by TASS with reference to the adviser to the head of the Georgian state on media issues Irina Shengel.

“The president signed a decree appointing Gaharia today. The official part is thus completed, ”she said.

Gahariya was previously nominated for the post of Prime Minister of Georgia. Later, the Georgian parliament expressed confidence in the government led by him.

On September 2, Mamuka Bakhtadze announced his decision to resign from the post of Prime Minister of Georgia.
